What makes our BIO URO CLEAN sewage treatment system so special?
Cost Savings - Low Desludging Costs
The unique design of the Bio Uro Clean system has been designed to provide excellent sludge storage.
Our large capacity tanks allow sludge to be retained for longer periods thus allowing the sludge to undergo anaerobic digestion which significantly reduces the volume of sludge and therefore the need for desludging.
The prospective purchaser should be aware that a cheaper system may not constitute value for money over the lifetime of the product. Our system can run for years without the need for desludging this represents a significant cost saving as smaller plastic and fibre glass systems require desludging at least once a year.
Durability
The Bio Uro Clean system is constructed from steel reinforced concrete and has a life span in excess of 70 years.
Strength
The Bio Uro Clean system will not rise, or crush, when groundwater rises. Furthermore, unlike some plastic systems there is no requirement for concrete backfilling around our tanks – simply fit the unit in the hole and backfill around it with soil - a considerable saving.
Discreet
The Bio Uro Clean system is installed discreetly below ground and is silent in operation.
Full Installation Service
Our price includes initial site check, delivery and commissioning. We don’t simply drop off our system on site.We supervise all of our installations to ensure the system is installed correctly.
The system can be installed in minutes- simply fit the unit in the hole and backfill around it with soil.

Why is the Bio Uro Clean unit bigger than some other systems?
The large capacity of the Bio Uro Clean system will save the consumer the excessive costs of frequent desludging and the additional maintenance that is incurred by smaller systems. Large capacity is also essential to achieve complete treatment of effluent. It must also have the spare capacity to continue to receive and treat effluent for several days in the event of power breakdown, etc. Large capacity will also provide for "shock loading" in the event of an temporary increase in the loads.

How far away does the treatment system have to be from dwellings?
Set back distances are specified by the EPA and on Irish Agrement Certificates however these can also vary from one Local Authority to the next. A typical separation distance would be 7m between a house and a treatment plant and 10m between a house and the percolation area. However, it is always advisable to consult your Local Authority or seek advice from your architect or engineering consultant.

What is an Irish Agrément Certificate?
Irish Agrement Certificates establish proof that the certified products are manufactured from proper materials, which are suitable for their intended use under Irish site conditions and in accordance with the building regulations.
The Bio Uro Clean wastewater and sewage treatment system has been designed for the collection and treatment of domestic wastewater when installed in accordance with the recommendations of BS6297: code of practice for design/installation of small sewage works. Information on the design capacity, ventilation, safety and location requirements is given in our Irish Agrement Certificate, number 01-132.

How does a treatment system work?
Our sewage treatment system incorporates a primary settlement chamber and a secondary aeration chamber where effluent is treated for up to 4 hours at a time, After aeration settlement occurs for 45 minutes then the treated effluent is discharged to the percolation area. The discharged effluent receives further treatment via the soil percolation field.

What is the difference between a conventional septic tank and a wastewater treatment system?
A Conventional septic tank processes wastewater by anaerobic activity and solids settlement only. A Conventional septic tank is totally dependant on the soil /disposal system to treat the wastewater prior to entry to the ground water.
A Sewage treatment system incorporates options for both anaerobic/aerobic processes ensuring that the treated wastewater is a very high standard. The wastewater is treated to such a degree that it can be disposed safely into the soil and the ground water.

What is the European Standard IS EN 12566-3?
EN 12566-3 is the new standard for wastewater treatment systems up to a population equivalent of 50.The EN 12566-3 standard is expected to become mandatory for all new wastewater treatment systems sold from July 2010, it is crucially important to select a system which is fully certified, otherwise you will not be compliant with future regulations..
